ruminations of a kennedy RSS

this is something i found and thought i'd give it a shot with little to no expectations other than to provide another outlet on the web that allows me to spill my thoughts, reflections, demented humor, and personal wisdom. (or is it ignorance?)

Afternoon of Day 4 of the Master Cleanse

i wasn’t able to check in last night due to the fact i was away from home and i basically collapsed of exhaustion as soon as i got back to within 20 feet of my bed. yes, i am starting to get pretty damn tired. i was told yesterday that i had some darkness under my eyes and after i looked, indeed it is starting to show. although i did get a decent amount of rest last night and i am feeling pretty good today.

i now have bags under my eyes similar to vince vaughn. except i didn’t get mine from staying up ‘til 4AM shooting boilermakers and popping percocets.

this morning i decided to try my first (and possibly last) salt water bath/drink. basically, instead of taking an herbal laxative in the morning, you have the option of drinking a solution of 2 tsp of uniodized sea salt mixed with 1 quart of water. if you aren’t aware or have forgotten, there are 4 cups in a quart. that amount almost filled up a entire nalgene bottle for me. this drink is supposed to completely “leave” your body within the hour and then i would not have to worry about running to the bathroom throughout the day which is the case with the herbal laxatives. the drink itself though, is as disgusting as it sounds. you are not supposed to drink it in under 10 minutes either so it’s not like i can hold my nose and slam it down. so imagine taking periodic gulps of lukewarm salt water for 15 minutes. they say to pretend you are drinking a salty broth but who are they kidding. you know the feeling of drinking ocean water? well, imagine that multiplied by 50 but without at least being able to have fun on the beach.

the salt water drink was kind of like ocean spray beverages, except that it tastes nothing like fruit and completely like ocean water.

i think i finally placed what this lemonade concoction tastes like. you know when you burp up just a little big of semi-digested food or drink and you can taste some of the stomach acid? that’s what the aftertaste of this cayenne pepper from the drink tastes like after a days. now i wonder why the fine folks over at campbell’s soup never thought of this soup flavor. mmm mmm good lord this is repulsive. however, i will be strong and push forward!

day 4: 193 lbs, so far i’ve lost 7.5 lbs since i started on friday.
